Owls In Lunt Chase

The Owls have emerged as one of a number of Championship clubs chasing the services of highly-rated Crewe Alexandre midfielder Kenny Lunt.

The 26-year-old midfielder is tipped to leave the Gresty Road side after they suffered relegation to League One last season, and is attracting a high amount of interest.

Leicester City, Wolves, Crystal Palace and Southampton are all said to be interested in Lunt, who has been advised by boss Dario Gradi that a move away from Crewe may be his best option if the right offer comes along.

He told the official Crewe Alexandre website: 'He is training with us and as I have said before the longer he doesn't sign for anyone then the better chance we have.'

'If Glenn Hoddle is telling Kenny that he wants him to play in central midfield in his first team next season at Wolves, then I have to turn around to him and advise Kenny that that is the best move for his career.'

Owls boss Paul Sturrock has expressed his desire to strenghten the midfield for next season and is said to want his squad together as early as possible. Chairman Dave Allen has also promised extra funds for player wages which could help the Owls secure Lunt's services.

Why not? It's not like he's going to cost a bucket load. I don't know too much about him really, would prefer Folly!

Lunt's a top player, we at QPR should be after him.

Wolves didn't have a good season last season and Hoddle may be leaving. I dont see why we should any disadvantage over signing this guy. The question is, is he the right man?

ZT the end of the day it will no doubt come down to money offered and How much his agent can make out of the deal.

Sad, but true, and you know how the club are with regards to dealing with agents who want too much, they tell them where to go ala Hume!
newman87
But how well did Hume do at Leicester, don't know much about Lunt though I have heard that many rate him, I'll put my faith in KPS.

That's what Im saying, we lost out on a really good player because of our 'policy' not to pay agents over the top fees, which is fair enough I suppose.
