Warnock Gives Owls Helping Hand

Our old friend Neil Warnock gave Wednesday a bit of a helping hand in the battle against relegation tonight by keeping Watford right in the mix at the bottom of the Championship.

Former Blades boss Warnock guided his QPR side to a 1-0 victory over the Hornets at Loftus Road tonight to leave Watford just two points above the Owls with two games remaining.

Victory for Watford would have moved them a huge step closer to safety this season, with the Owls yet to face Crystal Palace on the final home game of the season.

But they'll travel to Reading on Saturday knowing that they need to pick something up, or risk both Wednesday and Palace moving above them.

The Royals couldn't provide Wednesday with another favour though as they let a 2-0 lead slip at Scunthorpe to take a share of the spoils in a 2-2 stalemate at Glanford Park.

The Iron are now mathematically safe from the drop thanks to two late goals on home soil against a rejuvinated Royals side.

It's now a three horse race between the Owls, Watford and Palacd to avoid the one relegation place remaining in the Championship.

Yes but what will our lot do Sat.. probably not alot. This should be a massive lift. I can't belikeve Scunthorpe have finished above us poor side but they work there socks off something we havent done. Says alot and they have a goalscorer in Hooper. We don't. Tudgay went missing about last summer.

We are in the position we deserve to be James. Scunthorpe are not a good side but their players have a lot more guts than ours. Totally agree with you about Tudgay - he has had a very poor season - we should have sold him to Burnley when we had the chance.

yes ur rite there,Tudders mind isnt at hillsborough its else where and after last seasons performances from him as been abig dissapointment this year.Think need a good clear out and defo need to get strikers in who can bag us 20+ goals a season.i wudnt mind hughes from notts county.

How are scunny mathematically safe? 2 games = 6 points, they're 5 points ahead of us.......

Because we play Palace on the last game of the season...

Obviously a lot depends on this weekends games but if you ask me Watford could be the team that goes down. Hopefully we nick a scrappy 1-0 win Sat and both Palace and Watford lose. I think we can get a result at home against Palace a week Sunday but a win at Cardiff this week would be a massive boost, especially if other results go our way.
