'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cheers, Baggies!

Well there we go - Palace fail to beat West Brom and it's down to a final game relegation decider at Hillsborough between the Owls and Eagles - bring it on!

Paul Hart's men could have sent Wednesday down tonight had they secured three points against the already-promoted Baggies.

But as it turned out, Roberto Di Matteo's men could have put ten by the Eagles - still, a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park keeps Wednesday in with a chance of avoiding relegation to League 1.

It was a nervous night for the no-doubt thousands of Wednesdayites who braved watching tonight's match, but West Brom should have won the game comfortably.

As it turned out, Palace could well have snatched it late on after surviving wave after wave of West Brom pressure - luckily they didn't.

It was almost as if West Brom were teasing with Wednesdayites throughout, but a job done, as far as we're concerned anyway, is a job done.

So it's on to S6 this Sunday for the biggest match since the League 1 Play-Off Final - and no doubt a massive crowd at Hillsborough for a 'winner takes all' clash.

Palace have already sold their allocation of nearly 6,000 for the trip, and the home areas are expected to be flooded with blue and white following tonight's result.

Over 26,000 tickets have already been sold for the clash and tickets are expected to be like hot cakes between now and Sunday.

COME ON YOU BLUE AND WHITE WIZARDS!!!

What for making it that little bit harder for us on Sunday ! Did they really have to help them by scoring an own goal ?
Skeggy Owl
Why does it make it harder for us Skeggy? We would still have had to win on Sunday?
CLIFFANDJ
If we cock this up we deserve to go down
duds
I'd rather go into Sunday needing the win than the draw. C'mon Wednesday!
robc
Duds Spot on. The players have been given a massive chance. This will the toughest game this year.

we are very lucky to be in this position. if it wasn't for the 10 point deduction we would be 5 adrift of scunny. still i'll take anything. don't forget we was robbed in '90 with the sunderland swindon thing.so this could be justice. i think it is fate. we'll stay up and end up in the play offs next season. cry into your pig sty bfl cos with new investment in the post your worst nigntmares are about to come true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree, we are very lucky, and if we dont beat palace, then we deserve to go down.

Won't be easy as Palace are in a false position so are clearly better than their league position suggests. Watching that match last night was bloody torture, how WBA didn't win by about 10 goals I'll never know, at least Danns is now banned and hopefully Palace will be gutted at not doing the business last night, bring on Sunday!!
sussexowl
we dare to dream Palace are a better side than their position reflects, however pressure is all on them as they had a chance to relegate us and didnt take it
another irish owl
No no no PFL the pressure will be on them away from home, club in tatters, extinction looming in front of a packed Hilsboro. We will be the 12th man and keep the oldest, biggest, best, most successful club in South Yorkshire in the Championship. COME ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!
MightyWednesday
how can we be lucky to be in this position? we must have hit the woodwork over 20 times this season in addition to goalies pulling off wonder saves. don't get me wrong because I'm not saying were good, we are a poor team but have not had the rub of the green at all this season. hopefully tho that will change on Sunday
