Carson Gets England Chance
Former Owls loanee Scott Carson has been called into action for the England B side tonight after third choice 'keeper Robert Green was stretchered off during the game against Belarus.
The Liverpool stopper came on after 53 minutes when Norwich City's Robert Green was carried off after collapsing when taking a goal-kick.
Green had been on the field just five minutes after replacing David James at half-time, but is now likely to miss the World Cup after rupturing his groin.
It means former Leeds United man Carson is likely to get the nod to travel to Germany with the England squad as third choice goalkeeper behind David James and current number one Paul Robinson of Tottenham Hotspur.
Owls boss Paul Sturrock is currently chasing a season-long loan deal for Carson - who spent two successful months at Hillsborough. Wednesday lost just one game in their final nine while Carson was at S6.
