'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Do We Have Bouncebackability?

I thought long and hard before using Iain Dowie's famous phrase, but the point remains the same - can Wednesday bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking?

We saw Norwich City do it this season and Leicester City - who finished in the Championship play-offs this season - the season before.

Now it's Wednesday's turn to try and follow in their footsteps, and avoid a longer-than-wanted stint in the third tier of English football such as Leeds United and Nottingham Forest before them endured.

Some Wednedayites have demanded a play-off finish at least for next season, while others have said automatic promotion isn't out of our reach.

Even captain Darren Purse has aimed high and come out and said that there's no reason why Wednesday shouldn't look for an instant return to the Championship via the top two.

Southampton will be challengers next season for sure thanks to their superb second half of the season, while the play-off losers will no doubt be there or thereabouts.

So can Wednesday bounce back at the first attempt next season?
