Owls Eye Swoop For Cameron

Owls target Colin Cameron is set to leave Wolves after rejecting the Midlands club's contract offer, giving the Owls the all-clear to make a move for the 33-year-old Scot.

Cameron's agent Jim McArthur has revealed the midfield is likely to be joining another Championship club this summer, and it's likely Owls boss Paul Sturrock will offer Cameron a deal at Hillsborough after showing previous interest.

McArthur said: 'The one thing I can say is that Colin won't be re-signing. He has turned down a new contract and there won't be any more negotiations. We're considering other offers and I think it's fair to say Colin will be joining another club in the Championship this summer.'

Wednesday showed interest in Cameron towards the end of last season when he fell out of favour at Molineux, but the Scot opted for a loan move to Championship rivals Millwall instead.

Cameron's career took off at Raith Rovers in 1992 where he went on to make 122 league appearance, scoring 23 goals. He then made a big money move to SPL side Hearts where he made 154 appearances, netting 54 times.

Wolves then snapped up his services in 2001 and the midfielder appeared 136 times for the Molineux side, scoring 23 times in reply.

The Owls will face tough opposition for his signature though, with Coventry City and Cardiff City also showing interest in the former Sunderland man.

would be a decent signing for you. Do you think you will have a relegation battle on your hands next season?
jono_forest
yes, a good signing, might score some goals as well, nah mate, hope for mid table this season i think.

Can't say it's a signing that fills me with expectation, as for relegation, the players in their interviews(and the way we finished last season) all want to be a little more ambitious than mere survival, we may surprise people. If we sign a good keeper that is.

THe kind of guy who'd be very handy to have around.

Yet again, another good signing and another boost to your midfield with the lad from crewe in there too.
