'Sheffield' Derby Still On For 2010-11

Wednesday may be a division below bitter rivals Sheffield United next season but the Owls are still in with a chance of a Steel City derby match next season.

It may not be the one that Wednesdayites want, but at least they could face some form of local derby clash in the form of League Two promotion-hopefuls Rotherham United.

The Millers, of course, currently play their home games at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium.

And with the Owls plying their trade in League One next term, the Millers could provide the only derby clash of note next season should they overcome Dagenham & Redbridge or Morecambe in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.

Huddersfield Town will provide some Yorkshire opposition after they failed in their bid for promotion in the League One play-offs with defeat at Millwall on Tuesday night.

But it's the potential game at Don Valley against Ronnie Moore's Millers that could provide Wednesdayites with the nearest away game next season.

It'll be intertesting to see just how many Owls fans there are inside Don Valley compared to Millers fans should Rotherham achieve promotion this season and ace Wednesday next term.

Good luck to the Millers at Wembley, though...

I guess the clus is in your username too! As desperate as it sounds I would like to play them at Don Valley, at least something to look forward to

Rather cut my throat with a blunt bitter knife, but thanks for your concern

Rotherscum are just poor mans Blades, they hate Wednesday with a passion , just like all the other local sides, Dingles, Donny Chesterfield etc. I hope they get battered by Dagenham and look forward to seeing some tears from their scruffy

Anybody who's walked up $h?t-pan alley from the back of Millmoors away end to be confronted by toothless , dribbling ,snide burberry wearing chavs, so filthy and retarded they would make jeremy kyles guests look like the crowd at the Monaco Grand prix. would wish Rotherham nothing but a long expensive misery filled day at Wembley

I watched the match last night, and they even play like the pigs, long ball thugs, and the shirts look like they are off Skeggy market the same place the pigs get there's, i'm with you Greeny9 i detested them COME ON YOU DAGGERS!!!!

Why do all local sides hate wednesday, jealousy??
sussexowl
I think it's because we've been in the premiership for longer than them, Europe, cup finals and won a cup, plus a ground thats been used world cup matches, all something they will never see, and thats why all of them are so jealous of us Sussexowl. lets just hope that the good days are not too far away again.

Don Valley Stadium, now theres a great ground to look forward to visiting....or will it be Dagenham & Roadbridge? Bet you cant wait.

Dont see why you rise to them ecco owl & owlswfc, the so called blades on this site are morons, they probably only listen to blades radio Sheffield anyway. Why would you even wish to look at your rivals forum, let alone comment on it? Sad, Sad people. Who may I ad, know the way to all the league 2 grounds, because unlike us, they have been there. Well probably not these saddo's commenting on here, but blades in general.
