QPR Sign Former Owl Clarke

QPR Sign Former Owl Clarke

Former Wednesday striker Leon Clarke has wasted no time in finding a new club after Queens Park Rangers secured his services on a two-year deal today.

Clarke's time at Hillsborough came to an end after boss Alan Irvine chose against offering him a new deal at the club a few weeks ago.

But Neil Warnock has snapped up his services for the start of the season, meaning the former Wolves man will continue in the Championship next term.

Warnock, who took charge at Loftus Road last season, also admitted that he tried to sign the forward earlier last season during his time as manager of Crystal Palace.

Clarke arrived at Wednesday as a signing of Brian Laws and made 83 starts for the Owls, scoring 18 goals along the way.

What is it about pig managers and ex pig managers always wanting our players.

Don't think he will set the place alight. In fact its just a place for him to go out drinking even more in the city like he did when at Sheffield. I think Warnock just takes pleasure signing players we release.

I once saw "our Leon" coming out of a kebab shop on london road at 2 o'clock on a tuesday afternoon during pre-season with a big bag in his hand... ...I feel this 1 sighting sums up his time at wednesday, useless!
21/05/2010 19:04:00
Ecco.....Its simple, Warnock will get the best out of him, as he did with all the others when your useless managers were letting them go!
21/05/2010 22:25:00
QPR.. the weirdest club in the League. Florida, there's not a man on earth who can get the best out of Leon.

Somtimes looked useless, other time showed signs of excellence, time will tell I reckon, needed regular football to be sure one way or t'other, surely ok as a freebie at least?
21/05/2010 23:12:00
Auckland....Like the rest, you are missing the point. Its nothing to do with QPR as a club, its all about a man manager called Warnock. He took a team of has beens, never weres and kids into the Premiership with no money and if there is anything in Clarke, warnock will find it. Put aside your hatred for an ex Blades manager and wake up to the fact that if Warnock had been at swillsboro last season, your rabble would still be in the Championship.

florida i hate swinenock but i agree with you we would have stayed up but only if he had come-in much soon than irvine, too little too late thats why we went down players not playing for the club you know who you are and shame on you. Adam Le Fondre is a player we should chase for next year knows were the goal is!
