Club 9 Sports Pull Out Of Owls Deal

American investment group Club 9 Sports have all-but pulled out of negotiations to invest in the Owls following a statement today.

The group have long been in discussions with Wednesday about a possible investment in the club, with an initial bid of nearly 2m investment for almost 40 per cent of the shares being turned down by the club.

But they've today all-but called time on their bid, saying in a statement made to the club and the fans today that they're 'not going to put forward a revised offer'.

The news will go down well amongst the majority of Wednesdayites, who were against the Club 9 Sports bid.

The current Owls board can now turn their attentions to finding investment elsewhere, whilst boss Alan Irvine is set to have no further disruptions to his plans at building a squad for the forthcoming League One campaign.

Sorry wasnt being disrespectful to the article just tired of this uncertainty.
flinoycore
thank god for that dont like americans takeing over football clubs always seem to get bad press sad thing is we will have to put up with more crap for months now about someone else trying over the club
dublin owl
I'm happy with that :-)
tarnyowl
So is everyone happy with the current situation then? No money, rubbish players, a board full of old cronies who seem stuck in their old ways...
jamesc1905
And James no Yanks.
Handsworth Owl
yanks, but no yanks
ozzietheowl
Hmm.. well I don't see many others trying to put investment in to a sinking ship but everyone on here seems happy with that.
jamesc1905
James just look at Liverpool and Man Utd. These Yanks don`t put money into football clubs they just use them to offset borrowing and put the clubs into much more debt. Fact Americans do not care about Football just the money that can be gained from it.
Handsworth Owl
what he said
ozzietheowl
I'd just rather not know anything about "potential" F****** investment until it's a done deal. I bored of all this misleading hope and disapointment when nothing appears. Saying that we don't need the Yanks to invest in our "Soccer Club", I agree with the above comments.... Just look at Man U and Liverpool... What about Hobson? He seems interested in putting money into oue beloved "Football Club!"
Owlsmad
The trouble with him as i recall from last time he tried to put money in to the club, was that he also wanted to pick the player he thought we should have, thats no good either, put money in yes but let the manager do the hiring and firing.

What's everyones issues with 'yanks'? They're just american businessmen looking for investment. They're not all like the Glazers or Gillett/Hicks. Randy Lerner is doing a great job at Villa. I personally wish we would've taken a gamble. What have we got to lose
Norman
I agree with Norman, Hate to say it but some of us have "delusions of grandeur" comparing us to Man U and Liverpool. Reality check, we are in league 1, and need whatever investment we can get, to get out of here.
owl1
im sorry to say this but i think most of you are pretty deluded, were a mickey mouse team in a mickey mouse league what type of investment are you expecting, a Saudi oil prince or a group of 44+ businessmen like the so called red knights, who in their right mind are going to put a massive amount of money into this club were a joke and a complete laughing stock. now honestly if you were looking to invest would you put your money into us, i surely wouldn't!
OWL25
You are not Mickey Mouse - he's a professional.
BilboBlade
has anyone actually had a look at what the deal was all about? i thought it looked good and for what we would have got in return I'm not happy to hear this news. lets be fair the club hasn't altered at all in the way it has been run ever with the exception of a different front man every couple of years and what have we achieved recently? time for change in my opinion and an opportunity missed

I just don't like the idea of any foreign influence in our club whether it be from America or Timbuktu.... Ok the likelihood of any British investment is slim but thats what I would personally like to see. I agree that we need change at S6 and we need it now but do we really want...... Oh whats the point, we ain't got any investment so why bother talking about it. Lets just all sit back and listen to all the rumours and gossip with our misplaced hope that something good might actually happen at S6. Reality is we need to be happy with what we've got and support our team through thick and thin. What will be will be! WTID

Bilboblade yeah sorry, you're the mickey mouse club!

This seems to me to be the better way forward as the deal offered did not seem to be the right balance of equity for the cash input.
