Cobblers Eye Jeffers Deal

Our sister site Vital Northampton Town is reporting that former Wednesday striker Francis Jeffers could be playing his football at Sixfields next season.

Former Arsenal and Everton striker Jeffers was told he had no future at Hillsborough with his contract coming to an end this summer.

And, according to Vital Northampton, it's emerged that the striker could be plying his trade in League Two next season with the Cobblers.

Jeffers' time at S6 was a resounding failure after Brian Laws snapped the former England international up from Blackburn Rovers at the start of the 2007-08 campaign.

A spell rocked by injuries, Jeffers made just 28 starts for the Owls in the league, notching just five goals in the process and being amongst the highest earners at the club.

My message to the Northampton manager would be "you don't know what you're doing"
