Owls Ladies To Hold Squad Trials

Owls Ladies To Hold Squad Trials

Sheffield Wednesday Ladies FC will be running trials by invitation only this summer due to high levels of interest in joining the squad for the 2010-11 campaign.

Players wanting to join the Owls Ladies should send their footballing CV in and the club will reply to all applicants for trials on Sunday, June 20, at a venue which is yet to be confirmed.

Director of Football Dane Duke said: 'Because of the high volumes of players that show an interest in playing for Sheffield Wednesday every year we have decided this season to run a trial by invitation.

'All we do is ask interested players to email us their footballing CV so that we can evaluate the standard at which they have, or are playing at present. This way it stops us throwing an inexperienced player into the lions den, which could ultimately put her off football for good.

'Every CV that we recieve will be replied too, and the experienced coaching staff of SWWFC along with me will decide which players will be invited to trials.'

Anyone interested should forward their CV to maslin191@btinternet.com before the Saturday, June 12 deadline for consideration.

All applicants must be over 16 on or before Sunday, August 15 to be eligible to play in the open age team next season, a requirement set by the FA.
