Cobblers Call Cobblers On Jeffers Deal

Northampton Town have confirmed that rumours linking former Wednesday striker Francis Jeffers with a move to Sixfields are 'cobblers'.

The 'fox in the box', who was told to find a new club by Owls boss Alan Irvine, had been linked with the League Two club earlier this week.

But Northampton chairman David Cardoza has denied the links, telling the Northampton Chronicle: 'I don't know anything about it. I was quite surprised to read it in one of the papers. It was news to me.'

'There's nothing it in whatsoever. You might see more players like that coming down to this level this summer, though.'

The former Arsenal and Everton man failed to secure a new contract at Hillsborough following a frustrating three years in the famous blue and white stripes.

The fact that this has been a headline on the website for a least a day and a half without attracting a comment says it all. Jeffers is possibly the worst signing ever made by the owls and no-one really cares where he goes next. Possibly one of our worst signings ever!

.....and where do you read that?? In you're Crystal Ball. Seems like you have picked players who we have been linked with and decided we have signed them. Anyway, I think we should try get Joe Garner on loan from Forest. Decent hard working player. Not in favour at the moment.
jamesc1905
where did you read that mate? i'd like that to happen but Bouazza is a bit good for league 1 - i'd be surprised if he joined. the others I can believe.
