Wednesday Ladies Appoint New Boss

Sheffield Wednesday Ladies FC have appointed a new manager for the 2010-11 season by bringing in Adam Smallman.

Smallman has an impressive CV and is an FA registered coach and scout, bringing with him a wealth of experience to the club.

'To be appointed first team manager at a club like Sheffield Wednesday is a very proud moment for me and I cannot wait to get started,' he said.

' Jeff (Maslin) and Dan (Duke) sold the club to me when we met and I hope to return the good days back to the club as soon as possible.'

And chairman Jeff Maslin is delighted the club got their man in good time for the forthcoming campaign.

He said: "We have been extremely fortunate that Adam has decided to join us.

'Adam went through an extensive interview process that he passed with flying colours. Due to the instability of last season we had to appoint someone who is in this for the long run and push us towards our ultimate goal of an immediate return to the Northern Premiership.

'He has already spoken to all our current squad to discuss next season as well as putting together a super pre-season timetable. We believe we have appointed the right person to do this job and welcome him into the Owls nest."
