'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Another Hillsborough Arrival Today?

With Chris Sedgwick and Jon Otsemobor having already penned deals at S6 in the last two days, Vital understands another new signing could be unveiled today.

Owls boss Alan Irvine has been relatively slow out of the blocks in adding new blood to his squad for the 2010-11 season but ramped up proceedings this week with the double swoop.

And it could be three signings in as many days with Wednesday expected to announce another new signing sooner rather than later - and Vital understands it could be today.

Names still rumoured with a summer move to the Owls include Luke Varney, Eddie Nolan and Paul Heffernan.

Wednesday have made a habit of announcing signings late in the day this summer so keep your eyes on Vital throughout the day for any official announcements from S6.

would be happy if varney signed but he'd command a transfer fee wouldnt he? i thought we were all but ruled out for him? Id be a devastated if we got heffernan...

Varney -Why why why? Haven't we had enough strikers that can't score. I know he is fast and covers a lot of ground - he probably sends his mother flowers on her birthday too - but give me a ****liner who knows where the onion bag is anyday.

Varney was, and is a cut above our exisiting strikers. I get your point about a goalscorer and I totally agree but Varney's style of play is aggressive and threatening for defences. The reason he didnt net more for us is because he was partnered upfront with either Clarke, who's rubbish in my eyes or Tudgay who's too similar in style and they didnt pair well. I think Varney would be great to have on board but yes, we need more strike options too. I really dont want Heffernan though and it sounds like he's the man we're getting... We've just set up a friendly with Donny too which makes me think we've obviously been in touch with them recently...

heffernan is better than yous think 268 first team starts 80 goals most in L1 but we need players that can stay fit it would be a big risk to bring him in but if and thats a big if he can stay fit he would get goals

fair do's. I just hoped for someone a little better than him. if we're bringing him in I'll obviously support him and get behind the boys - it's unfair to have a go at him when he's not even signed/played for us yet so I'll give him a chance. I'm sure he'll sleep better at night knowing I've given him a chacne to prove himself too ;-)

So far so good with the signings. No relative unknowns for us to moan about :-)
