Owls To Face Donny In Friendly

Wednesday will travel to South Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers for a friendly match at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday, July 31 (kick-off 3pm).

The club confirmed the fixture today as the Owls' final pre-season game before the start of the new Npower League One season on Saturday, August 7.

The game will be Wednesday's seventh domestic friendly fixture of the summer and comes in the same week that Alan Irvine takes his men to face Barnsley at Oakwell on Tuesday, July 27 (kick-off 7.45pm).

Wednesday's pre-season schedule is very much a 'local' affair, with games against Scunthorpe United and Grimsby Town also in the mix.

But, as things stand, there will be no such 'highlight' fixture against a Premier League side, as has been the case in recent pre-seasons.

The club have also confirmed that there will be an open day on Monday, August 2, with more details to be confirmed closer to the date.
