Owls Sign Former Rover Heffernan

Wednesday have completed their third signing in as many days by bringing former Doncaster Rovers striker Paul Heffernan to the club on a free transfer, Vital understands.

The Irish hitman has been linked with a move to Hillsborough throughout the close season so far and is understood to have put pen-to-paper on a deal with the Owls.

It will be boss Alan Irvine's third signing in as many days following the arrivals of Chris Sedgwick and Jon Otsemobor, also both on free transfers.

Heffernan was told he could leave the Keepmoat Stadium at the end of last season after his contract with Rovers came to an end.

He had loan spells in League One with Bristol Rovers and Oldham Athletic last season, scoring four times in eleven starts for Rovers and once for the Latics in four starts.

If you have got him I think he will do a great job for you.

Pleased with this signing. Typical League One player who will bag goals at this level

At last, a striker

A little bit disappointed with this, primarily as he is only 5'10", not the target man we were hoping for, but career stats say 1 in every 3 games, so that's still better than anything we have at present. Nice to have another Irishman in the team as well. Happy with Sedgewick and Otsemobor though. Its starting to take shape!

we've still got one maybe two more strikers coming(we only got Heff and Tudgay?), Parkin and some prem youngster on a season long loan would do me

Its a bit bad when we have donny fans patronising us. enjoy it while you can big fella cos ii won't last long. Not sure one way or the other about this one, not on its own, but alongside Tudders and say Jon Parkin, we would start to have some options. Still can't believe the cheek of donnyed.

Lets give the lad a chance probably not the big name we were looking for but lets not forget we are in div 3 . At least he seems keen and wants to play at S6 thats a start
vic mobley

Owlet
dont fancy parkin or mackem if them rumours are true
WorksopsNumber1
why does anyone want parkin? he only scores against us! not exactly prolific

Well we've signed a striker................. weren't we linked with him about ten years ago when he was at Notts County?

as i live in donny now i have seen him a bit not bad but not great a middle of the road player if we get some pace up front Heff will keep the bench warm
