Irvine Set To Make It Fab Four

Irvine Set To Make It Fab Four

Wednesday boss Alan Irvine is hoping to make it a fab four of signings after revealing that he's close to adding another addition to his new signings.

The Owls boss has already snapped up three players in as many days and is hoping to tie up a deal for a fourth player before the end of the week.

Irvine told the Sheffield Star: 'I'm hoping we might be able to do something else by the end of the week.'

He's keeping tight-lipped over the possible arrival but revealed that he's 'talking to countless agents at the moment' should the move fail to come off.

Chris Sedgwick, Jon Otsemobor and Paul Heffernan have all penned two-year deals with the Owls on free transfers as Wednesday look to bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Irvine has confirmed that he's looking to add at least another striker to his squad to completment Heffernan and Marcus Tudgay.

And he's also looking to strengthen the squad's defence and midfield on a limited budget.

What makes you say John Parkin? I know we need a target man but it took us long enough to get Clarke off the books, what does john have that's different? just interested

we need tudders to stay. he had a bad season but so what, who didn't. steve howard alongside tudders would be great. i also think jon parkin is far better then clarke.

for a big guy, clarke could get knocked off the ball far too easliy, i doubt anyone can knock parkin off it or out muscle him!!!! would be very disappointed to see steve howard join, but have read tudgay is to join leicester later this month for 800k. tudgay was absolutley useless last season but im with radon he needs to stay this season!

cant get my head round this one we had an offer of 1.5mill last year for MT we said no gave him a new deal and now we will take 800k so we will lose money on the transfer and i take it we paid him more to stay so lost even more money will we ever learn..ROY O"DONOVAN of sunderland is on a free i think he had a good run of goals out on loan last season i think in L1???

don't want parkin complete donkey. howard is a good player and is exactly what we need. not bothered whether tudgay stays or not, i like him as a player but he isn't a goal scorer and that won't change what ever division he plays in
