Carling Cup Draw

The new Football League season may still be over seven weeks away, but the draw for the Carling Cup takes place this week.

We'll be finding out our opponents for the first round of the competition on Wednesday - a day before the Npower League One fixtures are released.

Burnley and Hull have both been given byes for the first round and Wednesday will enter the hat as a 'seeded' team - meaning we won't have to face a Championship team at this stage.

The early rounds also remain in two sections, northern and southern.

The teams we could face are: Carlisle United, Oldham Athletic, Tranmere Rovers, Hartlepool United, Rochdale, Stockport County, Morecambe, Rotherham United, Chesterfield, Bury, Bradford City, Accrington Stanley, Crewe Alexandra, Macclesfield Town or Lincoln City.

So make sure you're posted on Vital Wednesday this Wednesday as we find out our opponents.
