Owls Complete Coke Signing

Wednesday have signed midfielder Giles Coke on a free transfer from SPL side Motherwell.

The 24-year-old has penned a three-year-deal at Hillsborough and is boss Alan Irvine's fifth summer recruit.

Irvine said: "He is a two-footed, athletic midfielder and I have been aware of him since his time at Mansfield and Northampton. He has played a lot of games in League One and a lot of games for his age."

Coke made 25 league starts for Motherwell during his year in Scotland and has also played at Northampton Town and Mansfield Town.

He follows Paul Heffernan, Chris Sedgwick, Jon Otsemobor and Daniel Jones to S6 as Irvine continues to build his squad for the forthcoming npower League One campaign.
