Owls Linked With Morrison Swoop

Wednesday could be set to complete their signing of the summer within the next 48 hours with Clinton Morrison hotly linked with a move to Hillsborough.

Talk of the former Coventry City and Crystal Palace man becoming an Owl has increased over the weekend and BBC Radio Sheffield have announced Morrison is 'close' to signing.

The 31-year-old is a free agent after leaving the Sky Blues at the end of the season.

He was being tipped for a sensational return to former club Palace last week after boss George Burley revealed he was on a shortlist of potential signings.

Owls boss Alan Irvine has been in Austria with his squad over the last week but announced that he was hopeful of completing his eighth summer signing on his return.

And that could well be Morrison - who would no doubt be the signing of the summer as far as Wednesday are concerned.

I was told last night about this, so i put it on the co-op extend debt column last night, and guess who came on laughing as if i'd made it up. well it would be an excellent signing for this league, but i can't see us get anywhere near his wages but we'll see.

SIGNED !!! Cannot believe this what a purchase. I got a text this morning to say we were signing Morrison and just laughed it off saying yeah right !! Yet 17:00 today and hes an Owls played on a 2 year contract. In league 1 hes going to be prolific. What a team we have. We may hhave gone down but im the most excited I been about a season. This couldall be a good thing being relegated in the end we need a good season just to lift spirits around the place and I think this could be it. Well done Irvine !! UP THE OWLS !!!

Round of applause for AI, we are in League 1 and he has assembled our best team since the mid 90's. I always liked Morrison, nice selfish striker, who just wants to bang in goals.
owl1
just what we needed.
