Fans' Delight At Morrison Capture

Clinton Morrison became Wednesday's eighth summer signing today - and his arrival has sparked a wave of excitement amongst Wednesdayites.

The former Coventry City man is arguably Alan Irvine's prize capture of the close season.

The Republic of Ireland international was thought to be wanted by Championship sides Crystal Palace and Leeds United following his departure from the Ricoh Arena at the end of last season.

But Wednesday have pulled out all the stops to bring him to Hillsborough ahead of the npower League One kick-off.

And Vital Wednesday forum members can't wait to see him pull on the famous blue and white stripes.

S12 OWL said: 'Brilliant signing. Even if we do get a few injuries we've actually got some good strengh in depth now.'

katy-kanga said: 'Loved watching him at the Ricochet, he's a cracking player and this is excellent! WOOP WOOP!'

Disgruntled Owl said: 'Amazing signing. I continue to worry about where we're getting the money to pay all these decent players we're bringing in. Ah well, I'll just keep smiling until we go into administration!'

will it ever happen said: 'He should be scoring 25 goals in that league. Excited about the coming season now and wonder if he will be playing on Saturday at Grimsby?'

We're all look forward to seeing you in a Wednesday shirt, Clinton, don't let us down!

i must admit it is a great signing! bravo to AI for attracting someone like morrison to S6. We have got healthy competition for places up front now. i just hope the likes of Coke challenge miller, o'connor & potter for a place in the centre of midfield cos i think that could just about be our weakest area now. UTO!!
