Grant Linked With West Brom Move

Highly-rated Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant has been linked with a move to Premier League side West Brom in today's national press.

Grant, currently recovering from a shoulder operation, is said to be the focus of a bid from the Baggies after they failed to agree a deal for Preston's Andy Lonergan.

The Owls' player of the year last season would challenge Scott Carson, a former Owl, for the number one jersey at the West Midlands club.

Grant has been one of a number of Wednesday players linked with a move away from Hillsborough following the club's relegation from League One last season.

But the Baggies would have to part with a fair sum of money if they want to sign one of Wednesday's star players.

Wondered how we were going to fund Mellor & Morrison, had thought we might be getting rid of Tudgay. It would be a massive loss and very shortsighted given that the player himself has committed himself to trying to get out of this division at the first attempt.

its not going to happen, do you really htink irvine would get a great team together like this and then stick o'donnel or jameson in the net? doubt it tbh, wer looking for promotion so we need all our key players no matter what the offer

why would grant go to sit on the bench? carson is number 1 at wba and unlikely he will be shifted. grant had an awful time at derby sitting on the bench i would very much doubt he would want to do that again

I don't think Grant is going anywhere and havng an injury at the moment isn't going to help. I reckon seeing the incoming players that we have got has probably helped make up his mind. He could have a really season this year and be part of a winning team with a future or go somewhere else and be a bench warmer. I think he's definitley staying.
