Morrison Eyes Owls Debut At Grimsby

New Wednesday signing Clinton Morrison is hoping to get his first run out as an Owl in this Saturday's friendly clash at Grimsby Town.

Morrison, who penned a two-year deal on Monday, joined in first-team training for the first time at Middlewood Road today.

And he's hoping to be fit and ready for the trip to Blundell Park this weekend - where over 1,500 Owls fans will get the chance to see Alan Irvine's new-look team.

The Owls boss has a number of options in attack though, with new signings Neil Mellor and Paul Heffernan joining Marcus Tudgay and Jermaine Johnson as striker possibilities.

It could mean Morrison will be given extra time to get his fitness up to scratch and thrown into the mix in next week's friendly game at Darlington.

Morrison missed out on the intensive training camp in Austria last week.

Hope he is not gonna be another Franny Jeffers and spend more time on the treatment table than he does on the pitch!!! Even if he gets half a game today just to give us a glance of what he's capable would be a bonus
