Former Owl Jeffers Set For MLS Move

Former Wednesday striker Francis Jeffers could be swapping Sheffield for America shortly as he weighs up a contract offer from a Major League Soccer side.

Jeffers, released from his contract at Hillsborough at the end of last season, has been training with npower League One side Huddersfield Town in a bid to up his fitness and find a new club.

But Terriers boss Lee Clark has ruled out a move for the former Arsenal and Everton man, citing that the 29-year-old has offers from clubs abroad.

As well as a possible deal with an MLS club, Jeffers is also thought to have had an offer from a club in Dubai.

And he could make his mind up in a matter of weeks, with the move possibly being his last 'big' move of his football career.

Way back in the 70's America was the retirement home for the greats, Marsh, Best, Beckanbauer, even Pele. Now they'll take Jeffers? He's been retired since leaving Everton as a teenager! Any club that gives him a contract that isn't based on performance related pay deserves what it gets. We did and look what happened to us. Goodbye FJ hope your bank account appreciates Wednesday.
