Former Owl Moves To Azerbaijan Side

Former Wednesday striker Deon Burton has won the award for most bizarre move of the summer by joining Azerbaijan side Gabala.

Tony Adams currently manages the Azerbaijani Premier League club and has acted quickly to snap former Owl Burton up from Charlton Athletic.

It means Wednesday won't be going head-to-head with their former striker in npower League One this season.

The 33-year-old spent two seasons as an Addick following his move from Wednesday.

Burton scored 24 goals in 82 starts for Wednesday following his £100,000 switch from Rotherham United.
