Esajas Still Looking For New Club

Former Wednesday winger Etienne Esajas is still looking for a new club after failing to earn a deal with the Owls' League One rivals Charlton Athletic.

The flying Dutchman was released from his contract at Wednesday at the end of last season after boss Alan Irvine decided against offering him a new deal at S6.

And he's been on trial with the Addicks over the summer, looking to earn a new deal in time for the new season.

But Charlton boss Phil Parkinson told the South London Press: 'Etienne wanted a decision from us quickly and I didn't think he had done enough to warrant the type of contract he was looking for at this stage.

'I have no doubts he will go on to find a good club but it just wasn't right for us at this point.'

Esajas would have joined up with another former Owl in Akpo Sodje at the Valley had he done enough to bag a deal at the London club.

But he'll now have to up his search if he wants to find a new club in England before the start of the 2010-11 campaign.
