All-Change For Owls' Quakers Test

Wednesday boss Alan Irvine will ring the changes for tonight's friendly clash at Darlington, with skipper Darren Purse returning to the starting line-up.

The Owls will be looking to bounce back from Saturday's disappointing 2-1 reverse at Blue Square Premier side Grimsby Town with victory tonight.

But it'll be more about match practice for Irvine's new-look squad, as he rotates the squad following Saturday's loss at Blundell Park.

Captain Darren Purse will add some more steel to the Owls' back four, while Gary Teale, Neil Mellor and Marcus Tudgay will all start after featuring as substitutes at the weekend.

But Tommy Spurr and Giles Coke are still sidelined with ankle and knee injury problems respectively, with Irvine refusing to take risks on his players so early in the pre-season friendly fixtures.

Owls XI: Jameson; Buxton, Purse, Beevers, Jones; Teale, Potter, Palmer, Sedgwick; Tudgay, Mellor.
