Owls Striker Set For Huddersfield?

Rumours from the Huddersfield camp are today suggesting Town are preparing a swoop for out-of-favour Wednesday forward David Graham - who spent a successful loan spell at the Galpharm last season.

Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson told the Huddersfield Examiner he's had 'positive prelimanary talks' with a striker, with the finger pointing towards the former Wigan and Torquay hitman.

He said: 'I'm very happy with the irons which are in the fire and, all being well, they will stay hot for a while yet. Most of the people I'm speaking to have got their feet up on a beach somewhere and aren't able to commit to deals or further talks. That being the case, we'll just have to be patient and keep on checking the mobile.

Graham was shipped out to Huddersfield at the end of January after falling out of favour with the Owls manager and fans alike. He helped them to the League One play-offs by netting an impressive nine goals in 15 appearances.

He moved to Hillsborough last August for a fee believed to be £250,000 from Wigan Athletic but struggled to make an impact - returning just two goals from his 19 league starts in a Wednesday shirt.

Owls boss Paul Sturrock confirmed he would be having crunch talks with the forward after his return from Town, but the Owls faithful have heard little more about the Scotsmans future at the club.

It looks like the Owls fans, as with Peter Jackson, will have to be patient to learn of Graham's future.

Its a strange one, he looks quite skillful and Id give him another chance depending on how much Huddersfield are offering. I suppose we could use the money on some other striker though!
newman87
Wouldn't be fussed to see him go, spend the cash on someone else. Should get our money back at least.
welshyowl
Agreed. Think we'd get a similar fee to what we've paid for him to be honest. As the article says, its only a rumour.

saw graham last season was never convinced he was championship class, i would sell for 200,000 be a good move for both clubs

He did not do it for me.

anyone who thinks we'd get that sort of money from huddersfield for the worst 'striker' ever to play for us needs to calm down a bit

Poor old Graham, getting a bit of a hammering!

Scored a blinder at Luton (I think) but always looked off the pace, hope he likes huddersfield

as long as we get our £250,000 back ...Bye Bye

A lot of it depends on who he has around him. I've seen him a couple of times and i reckon he could do it in the championship.
