Donny Provide Owls With Final Test

Wednesday play their final pre-season friendly match of the summer today when they visit South Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers.

Alan Irvine's men have so far endured a relatively poor pre-season campaign results-wise, and the Owls boss will no doubt be keen for success before the big npower League One kick-off a week today.

Bar two thumping wins against Hallam FC and Stocksbridge Park Steels earlier this month, the Owls have failed to win any of their friendly matches.

And although Irvine won't be too worried if he side don't win at the Keepmoat Stadium today, it'd be nice to go into next Saturday's season opened with a win under their belts.

The Owls boss will no doubt field a side close to full strength with just a week to go before the start of the season.

Mark Beevers is set to return after missing the friendly defeat at Barnsley in midweek but Clinton Morrison may still not be fit enough to start.

Midfielder Giles Coke will get another chance in midfield as he too looks to up his fitness levels ahead of the start of the season.

It'll be a quick return to Doncaster for Owls' summer signing Paul Heffernan, who is set to play some part against his former club.
