Powell: Tudgay Focused On Owls

Former Owl Darryl Powell, the agent of Wednesday striker Marcus Tudgay, insists the player is happy at the club and focused on the season ahead.

Tudgay was subject of a bid from a Premier League club last week, understood to be Blackpool, which was turned down by Wednesday.

And although Powell insists the striker is happy at Hillsborough, he can't guarantee that he'll be wearing the blue and white for much longer if the Seasiders come back with an improved offer.

He told the Sheffield Star: 'The initial offer was not good enough and the manager wants to keep his best players but, if the offer is right, Marcus will be allowed to speak to Blackpool.

'Until the club says 'yes' to an offer, Marcus remains totally focused on doing his best for Sheffield Wednesday. He is happy at the club but not happy that they are going to be playing League One football this season.'

Burnley, and former Owls boss Brian Laws, have also been linked with the services of the former Derby County man following Wednesday's relegation from the Championship last season.

I cant stand Darryl Powell, what s sneaky ar*ewipe he turned out to be last summer when he couldnt have tried any harder to get tudgay out the door. filled his head with dreams of the premier league which fell flat on its face, no wonder he was w*nk last season.
DEZZYP
The best thing for Tudgay to do is to knuckle down and score a shed load of goals for Sheffield Wednesday and then we will get decent offers for him and Tudgay won't need go to a club that will finish at the bottom of the Premiership by a country mile next season. DEZZYP I agree with you, all the talk of a move last season definitely unsettled Tudgay - he was crap - he needs to repair his reputation this season instead of sulking!
CLIFFANDJ
Absolutely nailed on he will go

Another player thats off for peanuts!! Wish Blackpool had come in for him before Burnley came in for Granty! I know who I would have sold!
Bognor_Owl
I'd take a million for him, cant actually see him catching the team with mellor and morrison.. maybe only if he gets shoved on the right again, but cant see that either with johnson and teale.
DEZZYP
its no good him complaining about being in league 1, he more than contributed to the owls relegation

Tudgay gets too much stick i think. Player of the season before last and still managed double figures in a relegated side. Big player for us in this league capable of 20 goals this season competition up front is what we need
nice1emile
not happy to be playing L1 football all i can say is if him and the rest of our great team last season had done the job they get well paid for we would still be in the champ if he wants to go let him no team needs a player thats not happy
dublin owl
His agent will be the catalyst in this one. He'll engineer a move in no time. Bye Marcus, for what' it's worth I think you've had far too much stick and I rated you quite highly. All the best.
