New Consortium In For Wednesday

New Consortium In For Wednesday

A new consortium is lining up a takeover bid for Wednesday, according to reports from BBC Radio Sheffield this afternoon.

Although the full details are as yet unknown, the bid is set to rival Club 9 Sports' offer for the Owls according the Radio Sheffield report.

Two members of the consortium are said to be Sheffield-based and big Wednesday fans.

The Owls have yet to confirm or deny the new approach.

Wednesdayites are likely to take the news with a pinch of salt given the recent takeover talk surrounding the club, but it gives Wednesday an alternative bid to rival Club 9, who were thought to be the only consortium in the running for the club.

More news to follow as it breaks.

i suppose theres no better time to buy a club then when theres talk of tax bills and administration. maybe we should have missed paying tax years ago to get some new blood in, if only we knew it was that simple. one slight concern i have is that when we sold granty i expected a statement about 3 minutes later saying tax bill has been paid and weaver getting signed up, still no confirmation though.

Seth Bennett did some investigative journalism(how about that), didn't come from the board. Explain how inventing a fake consortium would look good for the board
