It's Miller Time For Wednesday

Wednesday midfielder Tommy Miller could be fit and ready to return to action as early as Saturday's clash against Brighton, according to Owls boss Alan Irvine.

The former Ipswich Town and Sunderland man has missed Wednesday's first three matches of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury in pre-season.

But Irvine is hopeful of having Miller back in the Owls' squad for the clash against the Seagulls at Hillsborough this weekend.

'I'm hoping that Tommy will train by the end of the week and that we will have another player in contention for Brighton,' Irvine told The Sheffield Star.

'The physios are pushing him on. I am told that he is clincally fit but we have got to work on him in terms of the strength and speed work that he needs to do before he joins back with the rest of the group.'

The 31-year-old was impressive in pre-season games for Wednesday and was expected to be a key player in Wednesday's battle to bounce straight back to the Championship.

But he'll have to work hard to replace Giles Coke and James O'Connor, who've both had good starts to the campaign in helping the Owls to two wins and a draw from their opening three games.

Great to him back in contention - this will hopefully bolster our midfield when time comes for the midfield sub to come on

I actually think we would be a more potent attacking threat with Miller in the middle, so this is good news, but who to leave out if he plays?

I'd go with miller(when he's fit) and coke in the middle. Love o'connor's attitude but he doesnt bring all that much for the team. Get miller fit and his goal scoring record suggests he should walk into the team.

Miller and Coke for me, too, when fit.

could be the missing link the team requires
