Owls Spends On Agents' Fees Revealed

Wednesday spent £209,400 on agents' fees for player transactions in the Championship last season, according to the Football League Agents' Fees Report.

The figure is a huge increase on the sum of £5,000 that was spent on fees in the last report for the 2008-09 campaign.

The Football League have released their latest list this week and Wednesday's spending on agents' fees during the 2009-10 campaign was amongst the lowest in the Championship.

They came in 19th to be exact, with only Scunthorpe United, Blackpool, Peterborough United, Doncaster Rovers and Coventry City spending less over the course of the campaign.

Of the 28 transactions that Wednesday completed last term, six were on new players, four were on new contracts, eight were on cancelled contracts and ten were on loan players.

A total of 778 transactions were made in the Championship, with over £10 million being spent on agents' fees in the division alone.

Middlesbrough were the biggest spenders with £1,464,200 spent, while Newcastle United spent £1,073, 076.
