'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wednesday Deny Magnusson Links

Wednesday have moved quickly to play down reports today linking the club with being in 'advanced talks' with former West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson.

Reports in today's national media suggested the Icelandic businessman had brought together a consortium interested in taking over the League One Owls and that they were in 'advanced talks'.

But, although not releasing any official press release as yet, it's believed Wednesday have denied the reports, but have insisted that they are in advanced talks with other interested parties.

Magnusson left his role at Upton Park three years ago but has a geniune interest in football, having been former president of the Icelandic FA and was on the UEFA executive committee.

Club 9 Sports and another takeover party, believed to be led by two Sheffield businessmen, are currently looking to invest in the Owls.
