Poyet Looking For Heroes At Hillsborough

Brighton and Hove Albion boss Gus Poyet has paid respect to Wednesday by saying we're 'possibly the best team in the league' - but he's still confident of leaving S6 with three points.

Poyet will be without some key players through injury and suspension for the trip to South Yorkshire but is hoping the Hillsborough surroundings will spur his team on to success.

'Sheffield Wednesday are possibly the best team in the league,' he told the official Brighton website.

'They are playing at home so it'll be one of the most difficult games for us this season, but that doesn't mean that we can't win.

'We have to be organised and play well to win the game, and I want us to play our way. As a squad we are capable of collecting all three points.'

Former Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur assistant boss Poyet is wary of the threat that Alan Irvine's men will pose, especially in attack.

But he's confident that his men won't make it any easy ride for Wednesday despite the home advantage.

'They have the option to play two or three good strikers up front, so it's going to be difficult for our defenders, but we are expecting to make it difficult for their defenders too.

'We should raise our game in a great stadium like Hillsborough, and as a player it should be a great game to play in, but we must stop making mistakes.'
