Wednesday 1-0 Brighton

A first-half Giles Coke strike ensured Wednesday maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a close-fought victory against a spirited Brighton side.

Coke continued his fine start in a Wednesday shirt by hitting what turned out to be the winner just before half-time.

The Owls couldn't add a second but the defence held firm to make it two wins and a draw from their opening three league matches.

The win moves Wednesday upto fourth in the league table.

Coke was awsome. Buxton Tudders and Purse should also be mentioned in dispatches. Mellor had some great touches. Thought ref was pathetic! Come on you blue and white wizards. Another clean sheet to boot.

Great win today! Ref was awful...

Tudgay was man of match for me, he won almost every header in both boxes, he had to do a lot of Mellor's running too, Mellor looked worn out by half time. Coke looks a real player, Sedgewick and Buxton stood out too.

Mellor was lucky not to get sent off. Tudgay's best game for about 6 months. We might have unearthed a gem of a player in Giles Coke. I enjoyed the game.

Couldn't of said that any better

totally agree with CLIFFANDJ Tudgay brill shame he did not get on the scoresheet that header would have been a perfect goal to cap a good shift put in by a striker under pressure

Good win and finally a good game to watch. Tudgay and coke were outstanding, purse was solid, some beautiful touches from Mellor, lovely passing on the floor (for once) and even Potter and Buxton had good games. But what made me more prowd to be a wednesdayite than anything was the final 5-10 minutes and the noise coming from the fans! It was deafening, everyone was bouncing and singing. You wouldn't have guessed that Hillsborough was only half full would you! Thats the reaction you get when you play attractive football.

Giles Coke is Magic, He wears a magic hat, and when he signed for Wednesday he said "I fancy that!" He didn't sign for Dingles or the pigs 'cos they're *****e! He signed for Sheffield Wednesday 'cos we're f***ing Dynamite! repeat ad infinitum apols for unoriginality but Coke is magic!

Agree Bubo...the atmosphere in the last 10 minutes was amazing. Looking forward to a lot more of that during the season. UTO
