Gow Linked With Wednesday Move

Former Rangers midfielder Alan Gow is the latest name linked with a move to Wednesday before the close of the transfer window tomorrow.

The former Ibrox man was released from his contract at Plymouth Argyle at the end of last season and is yet to find a new club.

But the Owls are one of a number of clubs being linked with his services, with League One rivals Swindon Town also reported to have held talks with the Scot.

SPL side St Mirren and Championship side Doncaster Rovers have also been linked with Gow, who is likely to make his mind up on his destination before tomorrow afternoon's transfer deadline.

According to Scottish paper the Evening Times, Gow has held talks with Wednesday boss Alan Irvine recently, but it's thought a move back Scotland with St Mirren could well be his likely move.

I'm sure he was on loan at Blackpool last year.

I think it's the lad that played at Blackpool a couple of years since, looked a good player at Hillsborough, but evertime i saw him after that he looked quite ordinary, so it would be a gamble.

He would be a good player at this level but I don't think we need him. If we have cash to spend on a player spend it elsewhere

im sure he was wanted by quite a few championship clubs when he was leaving rangers, had a decent reputation if i remember correctly. If it doesnt have much effect on our finances, wouldnt be such a bad move. I would probably prefer to lave potter and coke in midfield at the moment, from what iv see and heard, it looks like potter has started to pull his finger out at last.

I live near Plymouth and he never really made an impact down here, Argyle fans never rated him so can't see the point of us signing him

Think hes a left winger, had a bit of promise a few years ago. Agree with all above though would be decent at this level just not sure we need him
