Owls Stopper Loaned To Grimsby Town

Young Wednesday stopper Richard O'Donnell has moved to Blue Square Premier side Grimsby Town on a 28-day loan deal today.

The 22-year-old will go straight into the Mariners' squad for this weekend's live televised clash against Luton Town.

O'Donnell has fallen down the pecking order at S6 this season, with Aaron Jameson being used on the substitutes bench as a replacement for Nicky Weaver.

Owls manager Alan Irvine said: 'I took a call on Tuesday afternoon and we agreed the move for Richard.

'This is a great opportunity for him to get some games under the belt and it's also the chance of some valuable experience.'

Should be a good move for him as long as he gets some game time.
