Sedgwick Injury Not Serious

Wednesday winger Chris Sedgwick is expected to be fit and ready for Sunday's televised League One clash against Brentford despite being hauled off in the midweek win over Notts County.

The former Preston North End man felt his groin early on in the 2-1 victory over County and was brought off as a precaution by Owls boss Alan Irvine.

But the wing wizard is understood to have undergone treatment at Middlewood Road today and should be available for the trip to Griffin Park.

Irvine said: 'Right from early on, Chris was feeling his groin. He's the type of player who wants to play all the time, so you've got to really drag him off.'

Sedgwick is due to return to full training before the clash with the Bees and is set to retain his place in the starting eleven, as Wednesday aim to maintain their spot at the top of the division.

Only just found out how to work this properly i think! Glad this injury doesn't seem too serious, im happy with the squad alan irvine has built and im hopeful that we can cope well with the odd one or two injuries throughtout the season. Also anybody have any idea when JJ is going to be ready for a return??

they said a couple of months for jj before the start of the season so probably another 2-3 weeks still at least. I think he's started back training though

Good news. He was having a good game until he had to go off.
