Owls Ready To Give Financial Update

It's not often we provide news about when to expect news, but for today we can make an exception...

Wednesdayites have been waiting patiently to hear from the club about the financial situation at Hillsborough, which culminated in the Co-op Bank saving the Owls from administration.

An unpaid tax bill is reported to have risen to £1.1m for yesterday's High Court hearing, with the Owls threatened with being forced into administration if the bill wasn't paid within 24 hours.

But the Co-op Bank appear to have saved Wednesday yet again by agreeing to pay the bill, according to reports.

There's still no word from the club though, despite the story now being over 34 hours old.

But Wednesdayites are likely to get some answers at least some time this afternoon.

Vital received a media release from the club revealing that Howard Wilkinson will be meeting members of the press from 3.45pm this afternoon.

We presume this will be to answer questions regarding the club's financial status, and financial future.

So stay patient Owls fans, we should be hearing more about the situation before the end of play today...

poor howard, being rolled out as the cowardly boards puppet. should make an interesting press conference, no doubt it will be an 'everything is fine, nothing to fear here' speech just like last months 'there is no chance of going into administration' rubbish, escaped it by the skin of our balls.....again....useless feckers.
