Owls Invesment Talk Hots Up

Former Owls player and manager Chris Turner is fronting a consortium that is closing in on a deal to buy Wednesday, according to reports today.

The Sheffield Star is reporting that Turner is heading a group that could be 'days away' from completing a deal to takeover at Hillsborough and turn the fortunes of the debt-ridden club around.

A pinch of salt will need to be taken by most Owls fans, with too many false dawns so far turning most Wednesdayites into cynics when it comes to takeover talk.

But the links with Turner and his consortium, which could include boxing promoter Dennis Hobson, local businessman Spencer Fearn, David Blunkett and Paul Potts, have some substance following his shock deprature as boss at Hartlepool United.

Turner is thought to be heading the takeover on behalf of an international oil company.

And talks are understood to have been on-going for the last few weeks, with no comments from any of the parties involved.

Owls fans won't be getting excited just yet, but it's a little light at the end of a very long tunnel following a few weeks of worry at S6.

Chris turner? international oil company? at least make it believable. it would be great to see a new board but sadly im not in the slightest optimistic, and if im honest, im actually finding it hard to have any interest at the moment. over a decade of dire football and poor managment is starting to beat any enjoyment i had of football out of me.

Dezzyp I know exactly what you're saying. I am starting to hate supporting this club at the moment. I can't stop supporting them (I've tried) but it's really no fun at all. I'm sick of years of going backwards and disappointment. I used to be a proud supporter of a big club. Now its just a joke, we're in the third tier and still losing! Let alone being broke.

I've got inside info that Chris Chuckle (the lesser known brother of Barry and Paul) is fronting a bid from a consortium involving Cyril Sneer , Scrooge McDuck and Willy Wonker. They plan an immediate injection of 50 Million Dubloons, and hope to persuade Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka to form a management duo. Done Deal! expect and official announcement in the next 24 minutes.

**TAKEOVER DEAL COLLAPSES** The proposed deal to takeover Wednesday has collapsed after Cyril Sneer failed the fit and proper persons test! Willy Wonker has also cooled his intrest after discovering Wednesdays links with Chuppa Chupps. Chris Chuckle hopes the deal can be saved and says that talks are ongoing with several intrested parties

Great post Greeny haven't smiled so much for ages. I'm ashamed to be a owl living down south it's hard enough to justify the travel and the money. Every home game costs me 70 I could walk to a league 1 ground, pay 10 and watch a team that's got a great chairman, a united board and the most modern ground outside the premiership and to cap it all they are above wednesday in the league. What would you do?

My cousins son's girlfiends uncle's sister goes out with Chris Turner's son and they reckon it's a done deal. They are also the ones that first told eveyone in the ASDA that Shannon Mathews had been found alive so it must be true!

looks like we are going to get investment before you lot according to sky sports news...must admit what the hell is the problem why is it so bloody difficult. Its not fair to the hard working paying fans and why do they always lie when season tickets are up for renewing? Ok i have a smile on my face but the board members really do need to sort themselves out...maybe the only way forward is going into administration which would mean the gready awkward tosser on the board causing all the problems would lose all there money and a new element can step in and take the club forward. Lets be fair from a business perspective wendy are a good gamble as they can only get built up from where they currently are..but i don't care what people say this is all due to spending massive sums of money in the early 90's when you didn;t have it and lets be fair you all enjoyed that era now its turned back on you in a big way!!
