Bumper Support For Owls At County

Wednesday will have the support of 4,200 Owls fans at Meadow Lane tomorrow, Saturday, when Alan Irvine's men look to get back to winning ways against Notts County.

The Owls have sold out of their allocation of tickets for the trip to Nottingham - County had to get a safety certificate to allow more away fans than usual at their Meadow Lane stadium.

Originally 3,500 Owls fans were due to make the trip south, but the safety certificate allowed a further 700 tickets to go on sale to Wednesdayites as County prepare for their biggest league crowd of the season.

Craig Short's men only got just over 6,000 fans in total for their last home game against Leyton Orient.

But over 12,000 are expected in Meadow Lane tomorrow, with a third of the support coming from S6.

And the travelling masses will be hoping for better fortunes on the pitch as Wednesday aim to end a run of five games without a win - with their last win ironically coming against County at Hillsborough in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

we need the players to step up tomorrow and get a much needed 3 points to kick start our season again the longer our poor run continues the more the pressure mounts .

The maths is wrong !! There will be at least 4201 at the match tomorrow as I will be sitting with my friends in the NC end of the ground. In 1959 I was very excited when me Dad came home from work one day and said that we had signed 3 new players Tom Mac and Ernie! but as a young un I didn't understand the humour It was good grounding for the last 40 years or so!!!!!!!!! I hope tomorrow that we see a commitment, passion and will to succeed that has been sadly lacking in the past few matches. We do not need nor want to give the temporary custodians of the Yorkshire Cricket Club ground at B****ll Lane any further ammo although I must say PFL does sometimes sound like closet Owl. Nottingham folk have an expression when something unexpected happens, so at 5pm tomorrow go and see the spectacle at Trent Brige when AI and the boys show their A**** on it picking up 3 hard earned points UTO!

to tommacandernie: it was my second season of supporting the Weds that year - 59-60 season - and we had a great cup run. Tom Mc scored the winner in 2 important games, one against Middlesborough and one against Man U. We got to the semis but went out I think to Burnley (?) Also finished in the top 6 if i remember right. A win today and we'll soon be back scaling those heady heights!

Fantastic support again for the owls proving once again we're one of the biggest clubs around, great win as well in a very difficult away match, it's all smiles again....until the next match!!! It was about time tudders and Potter made a contribution, great clean sheet as well.
