Owls Duo Battle For Fans' Award

Wednesday duo Nicky Weaver and Tommy Miller have been shortlisted for the PFA Fans' Player of the Month award for October in npower League One.

The pair have been instrumental in Wednesday's improved form in October, which has reaped four victories and one draw - including progression in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Weaver in particular caught the eye thanks to his penalty shoot-out heroics in that JP Trophy triumph over Chesterfield while former Sunderland and Ipswich man Miller has enjoyed a successful return from injury.

The duo are two of five players in the division that have been shortlisted for the October PFA Fans' Player of the Month accolade.

Peterborough United's Craig Mackail-Smith, Brighton & Hove Albion's Glenn Murray and Huddersfield Town's Anthony Pilkington are also in the running for the award.

Vital is encouraging Wednesdayites to put their votes forward for either Owls player.

And as well as Weaver or Miller potentially getting the award, one lucky supporter who votes for the winning player will get the chance to present the award to him on the pitch prior to a match.

I've only been to the Chesterfield match this month, so I'm not sure. Weaver's always been good when I've seen him though.
