Poll: Can Southport Shock The Owls?

Wednesday enter the FA Cup at the first round stage this weekend with a trip to Southport. Can the Blue Square Premier side cause a shock and send the Owls packing?

That's what we're wanting to know in our latest poll on Vital Wednesday - so have your say now!

The Owls should be big favourites going into the clash at the seaside given their position in npower League One compared to Southport's non-league status.

But ITV Sport haven't chosen the match for a straightforward win for Alan Irvine's men, they've picked up with the hope that the so-called 'minnows' can cause a great FA Cup shock.

The mood around Hillsborough is downbeat following back-to-back results and the almost constant threat of administration looming over the club of late.

It could be the perfect time for Southport to come up against the Owls, but it could also be the perfect time for the Owls squad to show they're made of stern stuff.

So what's your prediction for this weekend? A comfortable Wednesday win? A win by the skin of our teeth? A draw? Or the unthinkable...a defeat?

All Southport need to do is score a goal. We seem to have lost the ability to score goals. Please AI, start changing things - we can't go on like this in such a painful manner.

Whoever we play at the moment we make them look like Barcelona, my heart thinks we'll win 3-1 or 4-1, my head says there's a strong possibility of going out of two cups in the space of a few days!!
