Manadaric Takeover Talk Hots Up

Media reports linking Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric with a takeover of Wednesday have gained momentum today, with BBC Radio Leicester revealing he's lining up a bid for the Owls.

Vital Wednesday revealed Mandaric's interest in Wednesday last week, and the former Portsmouth chairman is now believed to be one of three interested parties in taking control of the npower League One club.

Wednesday face a winding-up order at the High Court over an unpaid tax bill next week and could go into administration if an investor doesn't complete a deal to takeover at Hillsborough.

It means the club's main creditor, the Co-operative Bank, will be looking to complete a deal as soon as possible.

Mandaric is believed to be one of the front runners, and BBC Radio Leicester's Ian Stringer has reported via his Twitter feed that the Serbian-American businessman could tender his resignation at the Walkers Stadium to mount a bid for Wednesday.

Mandaric sold the Foxes to a Thai-led consortium in August but he still remains at the Championship club as chairman.

He was linked with a return to former club Portsmouth in September but a move to Fratton Park now seems unlikely.

This is sure to be a developing story, so keep checking Vital Sheffield Wednesday for all the latest news.

its been 5 years talking to investors and now with 5 days to go its all gonna be sorted?.... on a lighter note - 9 goals in 2 games - we're on the up! always look on the bright side of life...

Ha, tomrrow could be our last game, i never thought about it like that. should this finally happen, i can only see him wanting to bring his own man in, which lets be honest, wouldnt be a bad thing. Still, i wont be holding my breath.

Don't think its likely that we'll be playing our last game this weekend but administration does seem a whole lot more probable. I have no real problem with Mandaric and I don't think he really was the problem at Portsmouth. Although, I am almost certain that if a miracle occurs and he is the one that takes us on then Irvine is a dead man walking. Mandaric has shown that he will keep sacking Managers until he is satisfied he has the man to do the job and Irvines up and down results, together with the generally defensive style of football, is likely to see him on his way in the near future.

And in other breaking news the Pope is catholic and Elvis is still dead.

If/when his resigns as chairman of Leicester then I'll believe it, until then it's just speculation!!
