'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wednesday Face Day Of Destiny

Today's the day for Wednesdayites everywhere, a day where the future of the club could be secured, or where the club's future could be no more.

The Owls face a High Court order tomorrow over an unpaid tax bill and, with the Co-op Bank not expected to bail the club out again, the club must find investment today or face entering administration, or worse, tomorrow.

The next 24 hours are the most important in the club's glittering 143-year history.

A deal must be struck between any interested parties looking to takeover the Hillsborough club, in a bid to satisy the bank, the club's board and the loan note holders.

Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has already seen an offer to former Owls chairman and loan note holder Dave Allen rejected.

Employment agency boss Spencer Fearn is also understood to be heading a consortium looking to save the Owls.

But, after almost a decade of false dawns on the takeover front, the end game has arrived and a deal must be done to save the club today.

If not, and if a deal can't be agreed in principle, the club could enter adminsitration tomorrow and be slapped with a ten-point deduction or even worse be wound up completely.

We're expecting rumour, breaking news, ups and downs today - hopefully not much of the latter - so keep your eyes on Vital Wednesday for all the latest on the future of our beloved club.

This is it. The end one way or another. If the Owls go I wont be able to watch professional football again. My one and only love gone forever. Im wishing for a miracle but doubt i'll see it.

surely by the end of the day the club (board/bank etc) would have to be stupid not to place the club in administration, as if they dont there will be no club by the end of tomorrow? Can't see any other outcome other than administration - just hope if it happens DA loses even more of his money than the 10% MM offered him

Just another chapter in our very up and down 143 year history. I think unless a major miracle happens it has to be administration, if that is the case, hopefully somebody can buy the club on the cheap and we can start from scratch. Its a very shamefull day though, thanks a bunch dave richards and all who has followed......

Can't decide which is the most likely, Wednesday being saved, Wagner winning the X factor or Gillian Mckeith winning tonights task. Itll be good just to have some kind of outcome after the years of uncertainty. As long as we aren't wound up - which can't possibly happen - weve got to end up in a better position in 5 years time than we are now. Such a shame its got to this.

All we can do is hope for the best now i think and keep supporting the team no matter what happens

The thing that upsets me the most is that there is no one fighting for the club other than HW. There is no one who wants to see it survive. All they care about is getting their money. Wednesday is just a vehicle for scum bags to back money. They dont give a toss about the people who have followed the club all their lives. Almost 150 years of history down the toilet for the transfer fee of Alan Shearer. I hate whats happened to us and I hate the people who have caused it.

Losing the plot. Posted this on the wrong article. Just had a look at the official website. Absolutely nothing from the Chairman, board or chief executive. What an absolute set of morons they all are. Showing utter contempt for the supporters and indeed the club. Shame on them all. Not even men enough to stand up and be counted at this the eleventh hour. To be honest, thats the head in the sand attitude that has brought us to this. Can anyone remember a statement from the board when Grant was sold saying that the player had to be sold to pay off unpaid tax, I thought I did, but they didnt did they? What about the advanced season ticket sales. I bought 3 in April, what happened to that money? Grierson should be outed now, without delay. I wont say stoned to death or hung because that would get me in trouble. Removed from the board will suffice, and told to shove his loan note where the sun dont shine along with the rest of them. Keep the Chief executive just for continuity. Lets just hope that someone out there is Christmas shopping for a bargain early.

We might hope that for some they wont want their place in history to be marked as the ones that allowed Wednesday to die. But sadly I believe that at this stage it will be all about the money. Passions and fear will be high because a lot is at stake for those with loan notes to lose. As entrepreneurs they will be used to taking risks but none of them will like losing. Do we hope that this drives them to make a deal? But with what devil? It sure wont be a saviour unless it is us that buys the club. At the moment we as supporters dont come into it except as the herd that mills around shouting. We are the background shouts and grumbles. But we the supporters are the only game that counts when Saturday comes so why are we letting some other lot do all the talking about the future? I like Straffords plan. I'll put in my 200

I'm wound up but the club wont get wound up! No other club has been from what I can remember this early on in this kind of situation? We will go into administration, it's inevitable I think? The only way at this hour we could possibly survive (unless there is some investor just leaving it till the last minute?) is if the board stump up the money in the interim? I think we've established the board are useless amateurs so that isn't going to happen! To be honest, they probably haven't even thought of that as their narrow minded short sighted brains probably haven't had the intellect to comprehend it! 10py deduction puts us 2nd bottom at present and I think we've got enough quality to still stay up quite comfortably? Write this season off (and the next few probably!) if it means SWFC remains!
Owls That!
