Tudgay Linked With Forest Switch

Wednesday striker Marcus Tudgay could be set for a loan move to Championship side Nottingham Forest, according to BBC Radio Sheffield.

The 27-year-old could be set for a move to the City Ground on loan until January, with a permanent deal being completed in the January transfer window.

The former Derby County hitman is one of the higher, if not highest, earners at Hillsborough.

And, with Tudgay being used as a substitute in recent weeks having fallen behind Clinton Morrison and Neil Mellor in the pecking order, it makes sense for the Owls to offload the hitman.

The striker has previously been linked with Burnley to link-up with former boss Brian Laws, but he now seems set for a move to Forest to help with their Championship promotion push.

if its a good offer take it - given the state of our finances(come on milan!) and his form over the last 12month but if its a loan deal made permanent for 250k or summat derisory like that then hold onto him - might be on bench at moment but are morrisons legs gonna last all season?

Feel for tudders, could of had his chance at the big time, but for what ever reason he stayed, thankyou! Although he's not been prolific I think he may do the buisness at another club, if he does go i wish him all the best!

if its a decent offer, take it. He's a fine player but just doesnt have enough threat about him. he just has the look of somebody who needs a fresh start somewhere. hopefully the MM deal will go though and a couple of new faces will be added. anyways, id probably give the heff a chance upfront before putting him back in. Good luck to him though if the deal happens.

Bit sad about this. He could have gon ebut he showed a bit of loyalty, which is not so common nowadays. Quite right that he looks like he needs a fresh start, so it is probably best for both parties to go their seperate ways.

Like Grant, who was also very loyal to the Owls, Tuggers is being sacrificed due to the incompetence of the Board. Thank-you Tuggers for your loyalty and good luck for your future, where doubtless you will add yourself to the list of ex Wednesday players who go on to score against us!

radio sheffield seem to be saying he's def going. always worked hard for us though never fulfilled potential - think right manager could get him going again and find right position for him - if they agree permanent deal they should get a sell on clause in deal - you never know....

for me they can have him has'nt wanted to play for us in a long time good player but not interested in playing for us!! Money could be used to make mellor's move permanant come january and heff's might get more of a look in now plus jj can play up there to

Hes never been same since all this cropped up with Burnley etc,his heart never seemed to be there like previous seasons. And its obvious he stayed cos of wage he was getting.Scored some memorable goals for us especially the screamer v the porkys.

Tudgay is a very talented player but we should definitely let him go. He's kind of a luxury player because he clealry has a lot of skill and ability but he doesn't really fit into any position. He seems to be more of wide player than a striker but is never consistent from any position he plays in. As decent as he is, I think we've lost better and more effective players than him and I doubt it will have much impact on this team at all. I admire his loyalty though and hope he finds a role that allows him to show the ability that he has. Best of luck to him.

Its confirmed, he's gone. Thanks for the wonder strike against the pigs, much better memories than most of the horse t*rd thats come through the door.
DEZZYP
It says on his wiki page that a future fee of 500,000 has been agreed, cant really complain about that, he's had a poor 18 month. Wikipedia dont mess about do they.....
DEZZYP
didn't we turn down 2mil from burnley? god i wish we'd sold him then! so long tudgay - now get nathan modest on the bench and give him and heff a go as back up to m&m...
Patrick Blondeau
well done tudders for what you did at wednesday, for me you always put the effort in, and scored some key goals and will never forget all the goals you scored against the pigs, good luck!
