'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rovers Man 'Buzzing' For Hillsborough

Bristol Rovers midfielder Stuart Campbell can't wait to make the trip to Hillsborough in npower League 1 this weekend.

It will be the first time in almost 20 years that the Pirates have visited Hillsborough, although the Pirates captain has played in S6 before with former club Grimsby Town.

And he is full of praise for Wednesday's grand old stadium ahead of a crucial league clash on Saturday.

'It's a cracking stadium and they have undersoil heating so hopefully everything will be OK,' he told the Bristol Evening Post.

'I've been lucky enough to play there a few times in the past and it's a Premier League standard stadium so hopefully we can play well.

'We've had a couple of good results on the road in our last two games and I think we were a bit unfortunate not to win at least one of them against the top two teams in the League.'

He continued: 'Footballers live for playing every Saturday and I'm sure, when the time comes, everyone will be buzzing.'

Rovers have drawn both of their last away games and will be looking for another positive outcome from their trip to South Yorkshire.

No doubt every team will be buzzing when they make the trip to Hillsborough and it's up to us to delfate them pretty early on. Going to be a tough one but we need three points.

My comments from the previous post stand Alan Irvine has had some stick BUT against the background of this seasons traumatic events he IS doing a good job. Don't forget he already has one Manager of the Month under his belt The players will undoubtedly have been affected by the off pitch events although denials and the corporate line of we will only concentrate on the next game etc still drop off the tongue. We are at the dawn of a new era for goodness sake! The time is now for all Wednesdayites to get behind MM,AI and the players, offering only positive vocal support and heaven forbid if we are having a bad day at the office at Hillsborough encourage the team, stay off their backs and suck goals into the Kop. We have the best supported team in this division,Make it count! Intimidate opposing teams with a Wall of Sound. Phil Spector did it with music we can do it with Hillsborough. Come on Wednesday I want to see us passing the Blunts at the end of the season when they go down and we are promoted
