Owls Set To Unveil Chairman Mandaric

Wednesday are set to officially unveil Milan Mandaric as the club's new owner tomorrow morning, following the club's EGM at Hillsborough.

Mandaric had struck a deal with the club, the Co-operative Bank and the club's loan note holders to takeover at Hillsborough two weeks ago.

But an official announcement must wait until the deal gets the green light at the club's EGM, which takes place at Hillsborough tomorrow morning.

The deal is set to go through without any hiccups tomorrow, with Mandaric set to be officially unveiled to the media as the new Owls chairman tomorrow morning.

The former Leicester City and Portsmouth chairman was present for a match at Hillsborough for the first time since announcing the deal on Saturday.

And he was in for a treat, with Wednesday welcoming him with a thumping 6-2 victory over Bristol Rovers in npower League One - a win which fired the Owls back into the automatic promotion spots.

I know it's just repeating what so many have said for the past few weeks, but I couldn't be happier with the situation at Wednesday right now! I hope that once MM's in the driver's seat tomorrow we'll get some more info on his plans (e.g. budget for bringing in players). I'm ready for some Christmas treats for our club!

I don't think we need to bring anyone in, we've got a squad doing the buisness at the moment, all I would say is sign mellor permantly straight away!

i disagree OWL25 i think we need a good young CB (maybe a big prem team loanee) to have better cover and replace purse. also need a midfielder to cover for coke while he's injured. Do agree with the permanent signing of mellor though.
Yes, singing Mellor... the sooner the better. A CB is needed and although I couldn't be happier with how the team played on the weekend, OWL25, we're not too many injuries (which we've seen our fair share of in the past few years... JJ and our former great, Frankie) away from trouble. Bolstering the squad during the window be good.

its easy to say replace purse but at least he has a voice in the team, beevers is no better and wont mutter a word all game. i wouldnt mind a CB with a little pace next to purse.
i still dont think purse is good enough, and i would be annoyed if i was playin and one of the worst players was the captain. you need your captain to be a role model. and i think beevers doesnt look great most of the time because he is always covering purse.
and then makes himself out of position.
beevers doesnt look great because he isnt....simple really. if you take purse out there is nobody in the back 4 who will boss the defence. more often than not this season we have looked very solid, one of the best defences in the league, take purse's organisation out of that and we will crumble at the back, theres a reason he was made captain.
just think about when beevers had richard wood at the side of him they were great together, since purse has arrived beevers hasnt been as good.
wood was brilliant for us, anyways, he played mainly with Coughlan or bullen, they didnt play all that much together. iv never been a massive fan, big, slow, clumbsy, gets knocked about far too much and beaten too much for a lad of his size. he's just a big lump. think its fair to say it will do us for league 1, a new pair is a must if we get promoted.
i think it is the other way round and that purse is out of position because he is covering beavers. beavers is only 21 and has the right attributes to be a good centre half and i'm sure he will improve. but to be fair we have only let in 16 goals and a few of them have been screamers from distance that nobody could do anything about so all in all not bad

i agree if we get promoted this season then we will need a new pair of centre halfs definately for the championship.
