Rocastle Set For Oldham Switch

Rocastle Set For Oldham Switch

Out-of-favour Owls midfielder Craig Rocastle is set for a summer move across the penines to League One side Oldham Athletic.

The former Chelsea midfielder was told he could leave Hillsborough by boss Paul Sturrock at the end of 2005 and is available to leave on a free transfer.

The midfielder made 17 appearances for the Owls last season before being shipped out to Yeovil on a two-month loan move. He joined the Owls in February 2005 after spending a successful loan spell at SPL side Hibernian.

But he failed to make an impression with the Owls faithful, despite helping Wednesday achieve promotion via the League One play-offs in 2005 and having his best game in an Owls shirt at Cardiff.

Rocky has also spent loan spells at Barnsley and Lincoln City while on the books at Stamford Bridge.

I thought he was great in league 1. If he was a couple of years younger I'm sure we'd be keeping him. Good signing for anyone outside the championship
